JESUS WEPT

Those words are so powerful they have their own verse in the scriptures.
I never actually realized how many times Jesus weeps.
He weeps not only with sorrow, but with joy also.
He weeps in sadness and compassion when Lazarus dies (John 11:333-35).
He weeps in heartbreak over Jerusalem (19:41).
He weeps in loss wondering what more he could have done for those who have gone astray (Jacob 5:41)
He weeps with joy over the faithful ones who received him and weeps again over their children (3 Nephi 17:20-22).
I have always been a cryer. No one ever cries alone in my presence. It used to feel like a weakness. I hated that I would cry. But in Romans 12:15 it says “Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.” I have learned to appreciate it as a sign of compassion and a feeling of emotion. Jesus feels every emotion from us and weeps with us whether it is tears of sorry and pain, or tears of joy and gratitude.
The best part…he wipes away all our tears of shame, sadness, or wrongdoings (Isaiah 25:8), but he lets us keep the tears of joy. Our Lord and Savior came to dispel the emotions of heartache and grief, but He allows us to keep the joy, elation, and wholeness. What a beautiful, loving God we have and a loving and kind Savior.
